The Story

KSL-1700X-B-S is a compact bottom-loading furnace driven by an electric motor that is used for rapid heating and rapid cooling small sample in the air up to 1700ºC. The furnace also can be used for cycling thermal impact test 

SPECIFICATIONS


Furnace Features
  • Two-layer casing with air cooling. 
  • The inner is made of alumina polycrystalline fiber..
  • Coated with high-temperature alumina to improve the reflectivity, the heating efficiency, and its service life.
  • The bottom loading mechanism is built-in, which is driven by a DC motor for fast heating samples into the pre-heated chamber.
Power
  • 208 - 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, single phase
  • Max. Power: 2.5 kW
  • A power cable is included, but no plug 
Working Temperature
  • 1600 °C, continuously
  • 1700 °C, < 30 minutes

Heating Chamber
  • L100 × W100 × H150 mm with 4 pieces of U-type MoSi2 heating element
  • One 30 mm diameter hole is open on the bottom of the heating chamber
  • One fibrous alumina rod is installed to insert an alumina crucible into the chamber via a lifting fixture

Heating Rate
  • 10/min (room temperature —1400)
  •  5/min (1400-1600)
  •  2/min (>1600)

Thermocouple
  • Type B

Temperature Control
  • FA-YD518P-AG temperature controller is included.
  • Proportional–integral–derivative control (PID control) and auto-tune function
  • 30 segments programmed with ramping, cooling and dwelling steps
  • Built-in over-temperature alarm and thermocouple failure alarm
  • +/- 1 ºC temperature control accuracy
  • Default DB9 PC communication port

Compliance
  • NRTL or CSA certification is available upon request at extra cost.
