The Story

OTF-1200X-S-R-II is a compact two-zone rotary tube furnace with a 2" quartz tube, designed for calcination of inorganic powders with better uniformity, especially good for preparing Li-ion battery cathode powders with conductive coatings.

Specifications:

Power
  • 120 VAC, 20 A, 1.5 kVA, 50/60 Hz, single phase
  • A 3 kW transformer is supplied with the unit for electric rating of 208-240VAC.
Furnace
  • Double shell casing with three cooling fans
  • High purity alumina fibrous insulation for better thermal insulation. 
  • DC motor drives quartz tube with variable speed 1 - 10 RPM
  • Split furnace design for tube installation in an ease. 

Heating Zone length
  • Two zones: each zone length 4" (100 mm), total 8" (200 mm) heating zone
  • Constant temperature zone: 100 mm within +/-5oC if two zones at the same temperature
Processing Tube
  • 2" fused quartz tube with four mixing blades in the center
  • Tumbling volume 290 ml
  • The stainless steel 310 tube is also available upon request.

Inline Swivel Gas Fittings
  • Two Inline gas swivels to isolate rotation from the gas connections.
  • 1/4" compression tube fittings as gas inlet and outlet. 
Working Temperature
  • 1000°C for continuous heating
Temperature Control
  • Two PID digital temperature controllers with 30 segment programmable, +/- 1°C stability
  • Each heating zone's temperature is controlled independently
Thermocouple
  • K type thermocouples
  • Omega K type 3mm OD x 6" L
