The Story

OTF-1700X-12Z is a 12-zone split tube furnace up to 1700°C It is a perfect tool to precisely control and build variable temperature gradients along the entire heating area to simulate reactive kinetics and mechanism in a lab scale.

    • Zone 1-5, SiC heating elements, 100 mm each, up to 1500°C
    • Zone 6-8, MoSi2 heating elements, 100 mm each, up to 1700°C
    • Zone 9-10, MoSi2 heating elements, 200 mm each, up to 1700°C
    • Zone 11-12, SiC heating elements, 100 mm each, up to 1500°C

  • Type S thermocouple for Zone 1-5, 11-12

  • 50 temperature segments
  • Overheating and broken thermocouple interlock/alarm.

  • Up to 1700°C under ambient pressure

  • -0.1 - 0.5 MPa diaphragm pressure gauge
  • KF25 vacuum port
  • DN100CF or ISO100K service port
  • (Optional) Port aligner
Chilled Water
  • 5 - 35°C, 10 L/min, 10 psi chilled water is required.
  • MTI recommend using KJ5000 water chiller  
Pressure
  • < 3 psig
  • <3e-2 torr with a vacuum pump
Vacuum (Optional)
  • Vacuum pump is recommended to evacuate residual air in the tube. 
  • Recommended vacuum pump
    • 240 L/min rotary vane pump (oil pump)
    • 200 L/min scroll pump           (dry pump)
