The Story

PTL-VM2 is a compact Vaccum Dip Coater with a color touch screen controller. The sample (Max.1" dia. x 3"L) can be dipped and pulled in a vacuum-sealed 2' dia quartz tube with rotation.

SPECIFICATIONS:
Quartz Tube & Vacuum Sealed
  • Quartz tube size: 50 mm OD x 44 mm ID x 300 mm L, one end closed and one end open.
  • SS304 vacuum flange seals the quartz tube with KF 25 port to connect the vacuum port and a needle valve for the gas inlet with 1/4" fitting
  • The KF 25 port on the top flange will connect to scalable below and vacuum-sealed rotary and moving fixtures.
  •  Solution ( liquid ) will be put inside the quartz tube without a crucible.
  • Vacuum level: 10-2 torr by mechanical pump and 10-5 torr by a turbopump. Please click the pictures below to order a pump:

Dipping Mechanism
  • Two DC motors are a built-in aluminum frame. One is for moving up and down, and one for rotation
  •  One SS304 rod is connected to the motors for dipping and pulling samples.
  • Touch screen control panel to program dipping/pulling speed, rotation speed, and display vacuum 
    • Moving distance: 100 mm
    • Dipping/ pulling speed: 1-200 mm/min with accuracy within +/- 0.05%
    • Dipping/ pulling distance: 75mm
    • Dwell time: ( 999 seconds max)
    • Cycle time: 20 times max.
Sample holder
  • Two screw sample clips are installed in the sample holder in order to carry the samples sliding up and down through two guide rods
  • Max. sample size: 75mm(L) x 25mm(W) x 2.5mm(T)
  • Max. sample weight: 250 g
  • The customized sample holder is available upon request
Voltage
  • DC24V, 90W max
  • A universal power adapter for 100-240 VAC input voltage is included.
Certificate CE Certified
NRTL or CSA certification is available upon request at the extra cost
Application note
  • In order to get better film coating, the substrate shall be treated by plasma cleaner (Please click on picture 1 below for more information)
  • Use an ultrasonic processor to disperse nano powder or homogenize solution to get better coating (Please click on the second picture below for more information) 
  • If you need dip coating at high temperature, the quartz tube can be inserted a temperature control furnace up to 1000ºC ( as pic. 2)
