The Story

MSK-AFA-EC350 is a 350mm width roll-to-roll tape caster with a 3 meter long convection drying heater. Such a system integrates an electrostatic dust removal system which enables a particle-free coating environment. It can coat film sheets by slurry from 10 to 1000 microns thickness for various materials such as fuel cell membrane, battery electrodes, and biological films. It also can add a hybrid slot die head or ultrasonic spray head to achieve slot-die coating and ultrasonic spray pyrolysis coating.

Coating Method & Precision
  • Tape casting is done with a doctor blade ( Film applicator) on a flat plate: Substrate reeling out -> blade coating-> Bottom heating -convection drying-> and final electrode winding
  • Coating Thickness Precision: 10 microns.
  • Optional: slot-die is available at an extra cost. (Pic. 1 and Pic.2)

Heater
  • The bottom bed is made of Aluminium alloy, which enables up to 100°C Max via a digital temperature controller with +/-1ºC accuracy.
  • The Heating bed dimension: 2000mm Length x 400 mm Width
  • The top cover has transparent glass with a venting fan

  • NRTL (UL61010) or CSA certification is available upon request at extra cost.
Optional
  • Peristaltic Slurry Pump（Pic.1) can be used for delivery of slurry delivery during the coating process.
  • One set of ultrasonic spray heads can be added to the coater to achieve spraying coating (Pic. 2)
  • The R2R coater may connect with the heated rolling machine with a pressure display (Pic. 3)
